   Where were you when you took them — the top floor of a motel, perhaps — and where did this happen…which city and state?

   hehe, I did not take them…These are simply pictures that have circulated the internet that I thought were worth sharing

   I’m going to assume that whoever took these pics was actually in a helicopter. It looks like this probably happened pretty slowly, not in just a matter of minutes

   Definitely NOT from a helicopter (a circling helicopter would not have taken ‘time-lapsed’ frames in the exact same spot over the course of the event) probably from a hotel but likely an apartment/condo balcony (maybe an office building) at least 10 stories tall. And in Canada/US by the vehicle makes and traffic directions. Likely west coast (Northern California?), just due to the nature of the phenomenon.
   Thats just what I can tell, and it is an educated guess.
   Regardless, still very cool to see this.
